Garden Bridal Shower Ideas

Have a bride that wants to feel like she’s in her own fairytale? A garden bridal shower is the way to go! Designed by Kelsie Elise Connelly, Gabrielle’s shower started with big floral dreams and a hunt for the perfect backyard to transform. Luckily, Haymount Homes was on their way to renovating a home in the Historic Haymount District of Fayetteville, North Carolina into the English cottage that we were looking for. 

A backyard lined from corner to corner in beautiful greenery was the picturesque space that we needed to create Gabrielle’s Garden. The design began centered around the idea of a large greenery arch with dripping florals surrounding the head table. Thistle & Moon was the perfect choice for this event. They were just as excited as we were to execute our dream floral arch and used a stunning variety of blooms to create all of the arrangements, including dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, tulips, cappuccino roses, delphinium, lisianthus and more.

Bridal Shower Decor

Compote arrangements and ikebana cups lined the tables and buffet and a matching swag hung on a tall shiplap wall used for photos. A selection of rentals from Greenhouse Picker Sisters were carefully selected to build the ambience of the afternoon. Guests were greeted by a large vintage gold mirror with a custom welcome calligraphy by Meraki Creative. 

Long farm tables and bentwood chairs filled the space. The tabletops were accented with scalloped white chargers, gold-rimmed white plates, and gold flatware. A custom brunch menu created by Kelsie Elise Connelly and hand-tied cotton napkins were placed upon the plates. A variety of pink goblets, clear champagne flutes, and baby blue taper candles rounded out the look. Thrifted vintage books and tea pots were nestled between floral arrangements on top of long white cheesecloth runners. Guests found their seats with custom acrylic lavender place cards made by Modlode.

Make A Bouquet

The shower was filled with festivities, including prize-winning games and the crowd favorite flower bar, aptly named Gabi’s Garden. Each guest got to create their own personal bouquet, with fresh. locally grown flowers provided by Reverie Hill Farm.. A variety of florals and a large candelabra decorated the bar, while a hand-drawn chalkboard sign for the space was created by Ashley Nicholl Owen and Kelsie Elise Connelly.

Mimosa Bar

A mimosa bar set on Greenhouse Picker Sisters‘s champagne cart rounded out the event. Prosecco laid in a bucket of flowers frozen into ice cubes. A custom “Gabrielle’s Bridal Shower” label created by Etsy shop MadeebyMads adorned a special bottle.

Guests built their own mimosas with a variety of fruits, edible flowers provided by Reverie Hill Farm, and house-made syrups made by Hendrix in Columbia, South Carolina. A balloon arch with scattered lavender butterflies cascaded up the side of the bar. This beautiful day was captured by Kristin Guynn Photo and built by an amazingly talented team.

Brunch Buffet

The brunch buffet was crafted by the bride’s family, including a variety of home-baked scones, breakfast potatoes, miniature quiches, caprese skewers, and yogurt parfaits. A jaw-dropping snickerdoodle cake was created by Lovechild Cakes Co., covered in all hand-painted flowers and accented with golden flecks.

This is such a colorful and unique invitation suite created with destination art prints from a local photographer, and designed to look like a postcard from a tropical location!

The couple had this to say about their amazing event designer, Rebekah Brontë Designs:

“From our very first meeting Rebekah took our vague ideas of what we envisioned, and completely ran with them. We had mentioned a hotel in Cabo that we really fell in love with and had originally hoped to get married at. Rebekah came up with the idea of bringing similar vibes to Calgary, with details inspired by Cabo and that hotel specifically…It is honestly impossible to pick a single detail that we loved the most… Walking in and seeing the design come to life for the first time was a moment we will never forget. It felt like it was out of a magazine.”

The stylish hotel, The Westley, was the perfect mid-century backdrop for Jen and Stu’s getting ready time and is connected to a Mexican-themed restaurant called Fonda Fora where the ceremony was held.

A Cabo Ceremony at Fonda Fora

Vibrant tropical-inspired florals and succulents were the perfect pop of color for Jenn and Stu’s ceremony; this gorgeous design was created by Meadow & Vine. Even the sun played its part in this destination style wedding at home – it was a sweltering July day which brought the Mexican climate for their “I do’s”.

We love Jenn and Stu’s wedding fashion. The bride’s dress is from at Blush & Raven; the groom’s suit is from Atelier by Ensemble.

A Taste of The Tropics For A Ravishing Reception

After their sweet ceremony, the wedding headed over to their reception which was a destination in itself! Held at the A1 Cafe – the warmth, color, and textures of Cabo came to life.

From the event designer, Rebekah Brontë Designs:

“From the custom rattan-inspired wooden signage and the monogrammed stir sticks, to the succulent guest favors and terracotta-toned napkins, every detail was curated to transport this couple and their guests from downtown Calgary into the fantasy of a destination wedding in Mexico.”

This design was brought together by vintage and wooden rentals from Modern Rentals, Stefforward Events, and Bohosy.

A custom illustration of the couple’s cat, Sebastian, could be found on the signature cocktail sign (featuring a custom cocktail “Sebastian’s Boozy Slushie”) and on some of the custom engraved stir sticks as well.

These precious succulents doubled as a living wedding favor as well as a unique seating chart for guests! These cut out wooden signs and others were inspired by rattan.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the bride and groom commissioned this stunning cream puff tower by Creme Cream Puffs.

Taylor & River went from college sweethearts to saying “I do” in this sprawling rustic barn wedding in Newport Beach. Originally from Washington, they wanted to give their out-of-state family and friends the Newport Beach treatment (without the price tag) with a gorgeous rural SoCal setting as opposed to traditional beach portraits. Giracci Vineyards, nestled in Silverado Canyon, provided the perfect place for them; the romantic outdoor landscaping provided a gorgeous backdrop and a modern white-walled barn created a chic, rather than rustic impression. While Newport Coast weddings are known for their high-ticket price tag, this wedding totaled $75,000 for their budget!

A Taste of Home For Their Wedding Day

Because their work takes them all over the country, as River is a professional football player (at the time of the wedding, playing for the 49ers), they chose to tie the knot at their home base in beautiful Southern California. What made the day even more special was their choice to get ready at a family friend’s house in Newport Beach! This luxurious estate was perfect against the girls’ neutral tones and the groom’s pop of color.

Taylor’s gown from Love and Lace Bridal Salon was a standout compliment to this backdrop. Instead of a traditional veil, she opted for clip on bows on each shoulder, which added a modern and dramatic flair to her ensemble. What a fun and creative alternative!

River opted for a bold and non-traditional groom style with this custom burgundy suit from The Grotto Menswear. Paired with clean, white sneakers this outfit created a perfect pop of color against the wedding’s gold and cream palette.

SoCal Ceremony Amongst The Oaks

The ceremony was an intimate setup underneath majestic oak trees with stunning florals by Fleur.ish. With rolling hills and iconic California sunshine, this ceremony space evoked a warm and romantic atmosphere for portraits afterward.

Barn Reception, But Make It Refined

The reception later moved into Giracci’s Cabernet Barn, adorned with a twinkle light canopy strung over the dining tables to provide a romantic & intimate setting. The gorgeous event design was created by Fawn Events, who had this to say about the style:

“Rich colorful accents contrasted against the neutral wood and cream backdrop painted by the farm tables and textured linens, and the floral drove home the look overall. While we wanted modern, we didn’t want to veer too far away from what the venue inspired… capturing that without crossing the line into too rustic! Incorporating the traditional muted eucalyptus greenery, we opted away from garlands and chose lush, breakaway centerpieces with accents of toffee roses, creamy tones, and hints of quicksand to add dimension to their tables.”

These unique domed menus were and other paper goods were created by the talented Scarlet Gilia Creative. This modern accent ties together the gorgeous gold and rust rentals from Signature Party Rentals, Sundrop Vintage and Hostess Haven.

Taylor & River wanted a fun dance party, as this was an opportunity to reunite with their college crowd. The DJ setlist included nostalgic songs from their alma mater, and they passed out glow sticks & light up glasses to create a fun, funky rave-like dance party! Taylor’s reception dress was a sexy, layered corset-style dress which was a perfect transition from the ambient, candle-lit dinner to the fun, late night party.

From the designer: “We successfully brought together the best of two worlds: Newport Beach ritz and classic country rustic – It was the perfect modern design with the perfect injection of fun to bring it home!”

They knew in that moment that they weren’t getting married next month or next year, but that week!

Canoodling at the Clipper Mill

Megan and Rebecca started their wedding day with a first look and portraits at a vintage clipper mill nearby their venue. After meeting locally in college at Peabody, where they both sang opera, they are now considering moving to Panama where Rebecca was raised.

Can we take a moment for the veil

We could not find the exact veil, but we found one that is extremely close. It definitely adds a whole new dimension to the her bridal look.

When searching for the perfect, cozy venue for a intimate ceremony and reception Rebecca and Megan fell in love with Artifact Coffee . Artifact is truly unique space that flips from cafe to wedding space with vintage stylings, dramatic red curtains, and distinct stone walls.

We love these quaint cafe tables with wildflower bouquets! They give such a cozy and bright atmosphere for a coffee house wedding.

This western-themed celebration, “Bach in the Saddle,” was designed by event designer Olive & Grace, specialty wedding rentals and floral design experts Stockroom Picks, and a handful of ultra-stylish San Joaquin Valley wedding vendors. The Darling Hotel hosted this swanky pool party. A boutique hotel in Visalia, California, near Sequoia National Park. The answer is, “Yes,” they do host weddings here. The pool terrace was packed with bright bubble gum pink details paired with disco balls, custom acrylic signs, and giant marquee letters. We’re obsessed with the entire day. Here are just a few of the fancy finds you’re going to stumble upon as your scroll down.

A Disco Bubble Gum Pink Luncheon

This poolside luncheon brings all the dancing vibes. The pink-themed table was adorned with sparkly disco balls, and each table setting had a pair of gift gold-rimmed heart-shaped sunglasses.

Look above at the cute cowgirl custom acrylic signs designed by Ivory Rose Creative. Each of the guests was gifted a personalized sign. I would keep something like this forever.

A lounge fit for Miss Dolly Parton herself

Disco balls were scattered underneath the table, and a couch was set up for the ladies to relax Behind the cozy couch were delectable sweets from With Love Lacey and the cutest cakes from The Baking Barn. Of course, they were adorned with disco balls. One had Miss Dolly’s beautiful face on it.

Bangin’ Bar Setup

A custom bar was dressed up with iridescent tassels, stunning floral arrangements and a signature party sign, “One Bach Short of a 12 pack.
To keep the disco ball theme rolling, you can see them scattered throughout the design of the custom bar. Look closely, the right-hand side floral arrangement even had a disco themed vessel. It is little details like these that top-notch event designers do not miss.

Actin single drinkin’ doubles was etched into the disco ball bar sign and a red cowgirl boot acrylic sign that sat at the bar. The sign showcased the signature cocktails for a Bachelorette party.

• Somerset Winery – a quaint place with great music on the weekends and a food truck with a rotating menu. We highly recommend their rosé.
• Wilson Creek – a large property with plenty of areas to sit, restaurants to eat, and live music on the weekends.

They are part of the Temecula Valley Wine Growers Association, so show your support by drinking lots of wine.

Dance the night away

When night comes, take your group to explore the vibrant San Diego nightlife. The Gaslamp Quarter, with 16 blocks of rooftop bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, is where you’ll find the perfect party spot to dance the night away. Here are some of my fave spots for bachelorette parties:

• Bloom – Epic nightclub with killer sound system they are notorious for EDM.
• Fluxx – another high-energy nightclub that features a circular dance floor and VIP tables placed right in the center of the action.
• Parq – awesome spot to hear Hip Hop all night long.

Aside from all of the amazing dinners, dance parties, and beach days you already have planned, you’ll want to make sure that you keep the party going even during the bits of downtime. Unfortunately, bachelorette party games can sometimes feel like awkward ice-breakers, especially if you’re getting a new group of girls together for the first time. Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of non-cringe bachelorette game ideas that are sure to get your entire squad sipping and LOLing all night long.

Bachelorette Bingo

Need a last-minute and inexpensive bachelorette game that pairs great with a spiked seltzer? Keep it simple on your first day of the trip with bachelorette bingo. Get creative and hand-make your templates or purchase a set online for only a couple of bucks.

Truth or Drink

Truth or drink is like the R-rated version of truth or dare. Luckily, you don’t need to buy anything except a bottle of your favorite booze. Make a list of some silly questions to ask the bride squad. If you are looking to make things a bit naughty you can even add some naughty straws to the game to mix things up a bit. If you are too shy to share? Take a shot!

Panty Party

Have your girls show off their personalities by asking them all to bring you a pair of undies that represents them. The bride then has to match the underwear to the bachelorette. Clearly, everything can be turned into a drinking game, so if you want to spice it up just add tequila.

PowerPoint Party

If you’re on TikTok you’re probably familiar with this trend. A PowerPoint party is the perfect bachelorette game if you’re planning a girl’s night in. Choose a topic (the weirder the better) and ask your friends to do a presentation on it. Make sure if you play this game you get the bride-to-be in her sash and veil front and center for some attention. Need some saucy inspiration? Try “Are they hot or are they just tall?”

The Newlywed Game

Have the bachelorette party host make a list of questions for the bride’s soon-to-be spouse to answer before the party starts. Then, have the bride guess what her fiance’s answers were to each one. If she gets it right the entire bride squad has to sip their cocktail. If she gets it wrong, the bride has to take a swig. 

How Well Do You Know The Bride?

Figure out who’s been paying attention all these years with this true best friend test. Make a list of questions for your bachelorettes to answer. Wrong answers end in shots, obvi.

Prosecco Pong

Bachelorette Experience Alternative

You probably already know this, but Nashville is the #1 destination for bachelorette parties. Generally speaking, most of the Nashville bachelorettes barhop on broadway,  jump on a pedal tavern or party bus and woo-hoo all night. That’s all super fun, but what if you’re not looking for sashes, cowboy hats and screaming at each other over the music downtown? Don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely a time and a place for that. You just might be looking for something a little more – how shall I put this – grown up?

I mean, about 1 in 10 brides are over 40, let that sink it and feel free to take that however you want. I’m just saying that there definitely is something here for everyone – from young party animals with unlimited energy to a bit more mature, maybe a little more reserved and a lot more tired. If it suits you, you can create a bachelorette experience instead of a rager. Maybe you’re into something more subdued for your prenuptial celebration (compared to Downtown Nashville standards anyway). I’d personally like to introduce you to one of the best dinning experiences in Nashville and coincidentally, the perfect place to host your bachelorette dinner or even your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, engagement party, or micro wedding. Say hello to Saint Stephen, hands down the best restaurant in Nashville. Actually it sits smack dab in the middle of Germantown, which is THE cutest neighborhood in Nashville. It’s walkable to music venues and the First Horizon Park and countless other bars and restaurants. I’ll be honest, it’s my personal favorite spot to eat in all of Nashville. Saint Stephen is led by James Beard Award-winning Chef RJ Cooper, and features totally creative, sometimes mind boggling, innovative takes on fresh and local cuisine. 

Saint Stephen is set up with an ultra cool vibe with moody lighting and an open kitchen with, of course, a nod to the Grateful Dead. It’s perfect for a casual lunch, a super fancy date, an intimate or large party, or even a corporate event. You might be asking yourself “Why do you love Saint Stephen so much?” You’ll just have to keep reading to hear a little backstory and how we came to know and love Saint Stephen.

Saint Stephen

We were introduced to Saint Stephen during Covid when restaurants were just starting to open back up. It was the summer of 2020 and it only took one visit to fall in love with the food and the entire Saint Stephen team. We quickly made it our once-a-week spot and have never looked back. I’m talking every Friday that’s humanly possible, birthday celebrations, when friends come to town or a Saturday for an unexpected Pop Up menu. Saint Stephen is one of the rare restaurants that keeps things interesting and exciting by reinventing its menu almost biweekly. Every time the menu changes, it’s a whole new experience. 

Chef RJ’s is definitely not your typical chef, but he does have some of the “expected chef quantities” – a little ego and a lot fussy. I’m kidding, but I’m not. IYKYK. In all seriousness, he did everything in his power to stay open for this staff AND he regularly gives back to the community. From donating holiday meals to families in need to working with non-profits like Café Momentum (which I’ll mention more about a little later).

The Saint Stephen Team Highlights

From Saint Stephen about Chef de Cuisine Chef Corey Hargis:

Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, our Chef de Cuisine grew up cooking with his mother and grandmother and fell in love with the kitchen. Hargis’ believes simple food is the best food because it has less to hide behind, he truly lets the ingredients do the talking and prides himself on using local produce, using 100% of the product & preserving as much as possible. His ingenuity shines when pulling in French influences, he favors the homey countryside feeling the culture exudes. Much like Chef RJ, Hargis’ favorite thing about the industry is the camaraderie in the kitchen and being able to pass knowledge onto others while helping future generations of cooks be the best they can be. Say a big hello to him next time you’re in.. one of the best parts of having an open kitchen!

From Saint Stephen about Culinary Team Member Isaiah:

Isaiah came to Saint Stephen seeking a real culinary experience as a front of house server and bartender. Little did he know @chefrj would soon lure him into the kitchen with a quick question, “hey, do you know how to hold a knife and want to make extra money?” He finds cooking “as similarly detail oriented as producing music or filmmaking. “mise en scene” for film is extremely similar in praxis to “mise en place” for cooking.” Isaiah is all about the little details that go missed by most and is always driven to create an exceptional experience for an audience, or rather, our guests. Give him a shout next time you’re in, he’s one of the coolest guys we know.

Ok, so you want to create an “experience” your wedding party won’t forget right? Skip the sashes and drunken escapades for just this ONE night and get yourself into Saint Stephen for their Secret Society. The Secret Society is multi-course tasting counter at the chef’s bar in the open kitchen. It’s an incredible once in a lifetime experience. You’ve probably never tasted what’s going to be served to you and probably won’t ever again. The menu is ever changing based on the season and what’s available locally. This is not just dinner, this is a totally interactive and immersive experience.

Get to know Chef RJ or Chef Corey Hargis up close and personal and if your’e lucky you’ll get to say hi to Isaiah and watch him in action too. It’s an experience that includes listening, tasting and learning about unique food, interacting with the incredible staff, and, of course, sipping the perfect pairing. And it’s a damn good time.

Maybe you’re looking to interact with your wedding party and would rather immerse yourself in each other. Well, that’s great! Just reserve a table smack dab in all the action in the main dining room or request the coveted Artist Nook where you’ll find countless signatures of legends from Nashville and beyond.

Order literally anything on the menu as shared plates, or ask your server for Chef’s choice and let your meal be a delicious surprise. Taste and pass plates, but be sure to ask Kevin, our favorite bartender, to recommend the perfect pairing of wine. His knowledge of wine is off the charts and he loves to share. Café Momentum

Saint Stephen works with Café Momentum, a 501(c)(3), that provides a transformative experience for youth coming out of juvenile facilities. These kids rotate through all aspects of the restaurant, focusing on life and social skills, coaching and development. Café Momentum teaches young adolescents that it is possible to break the cycle of violence and crime by creating environments for these youth where they can gain self-confidence and learn marketable skills to ensure a more successful future.

In case you missed it (or haven’t started tracking all the ‘wedding’ holidays yet #OnceYouKnowYouKnow), Thanksgiving kicks off engagement season, but the rest of November is National Gratitude Month.
