Colorful Micro Barn Wedding
With micro weddings becoming more relevant during this time, Courtney McManaway Photography teamed up with Jennifer Armenta of Peachy Keen Weddings and Sara Adams of Sweet Stems to create some modern, elegant barn micro wedding inspiration in Temecula, California.
Courtney McManaway Photography photographed the day, and Peachy Keen Weddings planned every detail. You can see all the images in the full gallery.
BRIDE AND GROOM LOOK & FEEL
Our couple wore a rose-hued Friar Tux and our bride wore a boho Lulu’s dress. We were able to get some great images of them at cocktail hour, at the reception tables, and around the gorgeous property at Winter White Barn. The trees and greenery during sunset provided the perfect outdoor backdrop for couple portraits! To see even more of the stunning property, visit the full gallery.
CREATING A WEDDING BACKDROP
Having a focal point at a reception is so important, and we were thrilled with the rafters at Winter White Barn, which allowed us to hang a wreath and selection of white lanterns. This allows the focal point to stay on the couple while really giving the space that “wow” factor!
TEMECULA WEDDING VENUE
The Temecula market in particular is noted for its rustic barn and winery-styled weddings. We want to create something unique and colorful. Our first stop was Winter White Barn in Temecula. This gorgeous property, tucked away so it feels secluded, features a gorgeous white barn and elevated rafters, with lots of windows to bring in natural light! This space was the perfect canvas to create a modern micro wedding.
HOW TO UPSCALE A MICRO WEDDING
We brought in several other elements to show couples how to upscale these smaller wedding celebrations. A cocktail cart with mid-century glassware provided upscale drinks to toast the newlyweds! A cocktail lounge also allowed our couple to relax in a stylish, modern setting.
Modern Wedding Reception Decor
Jennifer of Peachy Keen Weddings, the shoot designer, noted the modern tables were the anchor for the shoot creation. The grey washed top and crossed legs made this a standalone feature, so we didn’t want to take away from that with a linen. Alternatively, we tied in pink chiffon table-runners with a selection of bud vases, glass lanterns, pink, gold and white table settings, all anchored by low centerpieces.
Color Palette and Florals Used
Once we decided on our colors (blush, grays, pink, yellow/orange, robin blue, and sea-foam green), we worked with Sara of Sweet Stems to create wreaths, centerpieces, and a bouquet to compliment the setting.
Sara used a selection of coral roses, coral dahlias, coral spray roses, pink roses, pink spray roses, pink lisianthus, pink stock, pink ranunculus, peach roses, peach spray roses, peach ranunculus, blue thistle, Italian ruscus, seeded eucalyptus and silver dollar eucalyptus to bring her vision to life.
We were able to re-use the florals and bud vases on site at Winter White Barn's outdoor ceremony site, helping couples to seamlessly tie together all their elements. Scroll up to see the ceremony decor again.
